#RDaudio: Procrastination

In this brand-new audio recording, the first in a series of lockdown conversations we're calling #RDaudio, Dr Steve Joy (Head of Researcher Development, University of Cambridge) and Katie D'Arcy (freelance careers advisor and researcher development specialist) talk about the challenges of procrastination and how to overcome it.

Although it's currently in the form of a video, the conversation was intended to be experienced like a podcast - particularly in the sense that you might want to put it on in the background whilst you get on with some other tasks. Just don't forget to check out the resources listed below!

Note:

You might notice that the theme of physical exercise recurs several times in this recording. For some people, doing more exercise is not a priority; for some of us, the priority is precisely to resist pressure to do more exercise. Healthy and unhealthy habits look different for all of us.

If doing more exercise doesn't feel like a useful example of desirable habit change for you right now, then please mentally replace it, as you listen, with anything that feels more fitting. Getting to bed earlier, eating a decent breakfast, protecting your daily Netflix slot, reducing your daily Netflix slot, calling a friend every day - whatever healthy looks like for you.
